Rooting

A painted plant and dandelion pappus in an acid-washed landscape. A young plant extends its roots to establish itself in novel soil. Rooting symbolizes my immigrant efforts to adapt to a new environment and novel culture in the United States. Furthermore, it serves as a reminder that like growing plants which are free to extend their roots, individuals can cherish and freely develop their true identities when not trying to fit into pre-defined boxes.
