The young artist assembles a self-portrait from different aspects of her fragmented life and environment. The serene, alluring Laguna Beach and my private school uniform's skirt symbolize the privileged upper echelons of the society. Conversely, nearby neighborhoods are full of suffering multitudes, unnoticed and neglected by society. No matter how we stitch and hide, elements of our lives and world cannot and should not be concealed.
